The role

Part-time barista, full-time hospitality.

We're a new specialty coffee shop opening mid-August 2026 at The Grove at La Frontera in Arlington. We built Bayit Brew to feel like home, a place for people to stay awhile. As a barista here, your role goes far beyond crafting great coffee. You're the heartbeat of our shop, the first friendly face guests see and the lasting impression they take with them. You shape our atmosphere.

You don't need barista experience. You need to be the kind of person who lights up when you make someone else's day. Someone who believes that every single interaction matters, because at Bayit Brew, we believe that too. We will teach you coffee, you just have to want to learn and perfect your skills.

What that looks like in practice:

  • Master the craft: Learn specialty coffee from scratch, from espresso extraction and milk texturing to dialing in single origins and the science behind a cortado.
  • Join a great crew: Work with a team that takes coffee seriously, but never takes themselves too seriously.
  • Know our regulars: You'll know them by name, remember their drink, and ask about the book they're reading.

This is more than just a temporary job. We're looking for people who want to master the craft of coffee and who care about the people on the other side of the counter.

What the job actually looks like.

We'd rather tell you everything upfront than have it come as a surprise three weeks in.

The physical demands

  • On your feet and moving for extended shifts, typically six or more hours.
  • Reaching, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Polished concrete floors underfoot, all shift long.

Bayit Brew's hours of operation

  • Open Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
  • You'll work most weekends and most holidays.
  • Closed Sundays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Showing up professionally

  • A simple dress code every barista follows, so we show up as one team.
  • A Texas food handler certification, completed within 30 days of hire. We're happy to point you in the right direction.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
  • Above all, seeing the person on the other side of the counter. Every cup is built for someone specific.

What you'll do

  • Pull and serve coffee, tea, and specialty drinks with care.
  • Ring up orders on the bar's POS and keep transactions smooth.
  • Greet guests, answer their questions, and point them to something they'll like.
  • Keep the café clean and set: prep stations and seating included.
  • Handle cash and cards accurately, by the book on food safety.
  • Help with fresh food prep so it goes out quick and right.

What you'll bring

  • Warmth with people and clear communication, even when the line's out the door.
  • A knack for juggling a busy rush without losing the warmth.
  • Comfort with a register's basic math: sales, change, and counting a drawer.
